Fearing slugs 2 home runs, Leads Reapers to Win

The Carolina Reapers beat the Boston Whistlers, 8-5, at Whislters Park. The Reapers got a fine performance from shortstop Mike Fearing, who belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Carolina, at 57-79, sits in last place in the National Conference South Division.
Had Mike Green not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Green hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Reapers.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Green. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
