Chiefs Lose to Seagulls, 4-2
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Sandusky Seagulls and Santa Fe Chiefs came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

Rob Griffin was locked in. The right-hander led the Sandusky Seagulls to a 4-2 win against the Santa Fe Chiefs at Seagull Park. The winner was Griffin. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Dave Harvey. Picking up his 1st save was 30-year old left-handed pitcher Jose Betancourt.

Bill Dennis's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 3rd and the game tied, 1-1. The Sandusky shortstop hit a run-scoring single off Dave Harvey to put the Seagulls up.

Said losing manager Brandon Harper: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."

The last-place Seagulls improved to 56-78.
