The Syracuse Scorpions used a great performance from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Bob Garbee to beat the Charleston Sea Dogs, 2-1, at Ballpark of Charleston. Syracuse reliever Jared Hall picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Mario Barillas took the loss. Syracuse, at 47-86, occupies third place in the American Conference Central Division.

Syracuse used a timely hit from Jason Bloom to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Scorpions ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Bob was able to execute his pitches," said Syracuse manager Jose Torres. "Simple as that."
