Slumping Whistlers Lose 7th Straight
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Syracuse Scorpions and Boston Whistlers.

The Syracuse Scorpions picked up a win at Scorpion Stadium, topping the Boston Whistlers, 9-3. On the mound for Syracuse was right-hander Juan Rosales. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Scorpions, at 56-75, have now won 4 straight.

Syracuse went up, 5-3, on Tom Lusardi's 20th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Lusardi hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Boston pitcher Dusty Thomas feeling irked.

"We're not really clicking on anything right now," said Boston manager Mike Plocher.
