Purple Wave Stymie Walnut Park, Take 4-1 Win

The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
New Rochelle Purple Wave starter Dave Barncord was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Walnut Park Bobcats, 4-1. The save went to Keith Hawes, number 11 for him.
In the bottom of the sixth, Noel Cusack delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the New Rochelle first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Purple Wave in front, 4-1.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Purple Wave manager William Gregg.
With the victory, the Purple Wave upped their record to 29-27.
