Fremont starter Josh Riese put the Spokane offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his curveball in leading the Marshalls to a 2-1 win. Riese, now 4-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Kasey Acree closed it out for his 8th save.

Second Baseman Pete Horne made an impact for Fremont, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Rob Harvey in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Horne went 1-3 with a triple.

Said losing manager Chris McLure: "We've got to find a way to push a run across."

The win for the Marshalls raised their record to 35-21.
