Oaks Find a Way to Win
Orono pitcher R.J. Lawhead did his part in helping his team beat the Fremont Marshalls, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Kevin Weber, now 3-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Their 37-15 record puts the Oaks first in the Stripes Conference East Division.

Orono won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Kurt Neal on the mound for Fremont, first baseman Yasutoki Kurihara hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Oaks fans to their feet.

"Exciting game to play in," said Kurihara. "Getting the win makes it even better."
