Fighting Quakers Bridle Z's, 2-1
|
The Ann Arbor Z's and Quebec Fighting Quakers provided some drama for the home crowd.
Quebec got a first-rate effort from pitcher Edwin Rincones, who frustrated Ann Arbor hitters en route to a 2-1 Fighting Quakers triumph at Toros Ballpark. Brian Kauppinen got credit for the save for Quebec. It was his 3rd of the year.
Making an impact for the home team was Mario Sixtos. In the bottom of the first, the 26-year old third baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Fighting Quakers.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Rincones.
The victory puts Quebec at 18-36.
