Leonardi has 4 hits, Fighting Quakers Move to 33-20
|
Toros Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the New Rochelle Purple Wave and Quebec Fighting Quakers.
The Quebec Fighting Quakers finished off the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 5-3. Much of the credit belonged to first baseman Ben Leonardi. Leonardi went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Fighting Quakers. Quebec now has a record of 33-20 with the win.
With Quebec leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Leonardi came up to bat against New Rochelle pitcher Willie Krell. Leonardi hit a fastball to right-center for a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Fighting Quakers on top, 5-1.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Leonardi.
