Denver Tacks 5-2 Loss on New Rochelle
|
The Denver Pilots racked up a win at Pilots Ballpark, bumping off the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 5-2. Carlos Martinez, who started for Denver, pitched effectively for his team. The win has Denver at 19-31.
Denver center fielder Tony Villarreal contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Pilots ahead, 3-1.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Villarreal.
