Bruins Deal Spokane 4-1 Defeat

The Bruins kept their hot streak going.
Westwood turned a fine outing from starter Roy McLain into a victory over the Spokane Selects at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The final score was 4-1. McLain, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Antonio Sanchez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
In the top of the ninth, Ryan Freeman stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Selects were trailing 4-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Antonio Sanchez made a terrific pitch and Freeman struck out. Gone was the dream of a Spokane comeback.
Westwood has run its win streak to 10 consecutive.
