Victors Again, Westwood Win Streak at 8
Randy Lupton pitched a gem to lead Westwood to victory over the Spokane Selects, 9-1. The winning pitcher was Lupton, now 5-4. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Westwood sits in third place in the Stripes Conference East Division at 25-24.

The Selects had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Bruins going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old third baseman Mike MacPherson came to the plate. MacPherson hit a run-scoring double on a 2-1 curveball from Spokane hurler Tim Sindt. It was MacPherson's 5th double of the year.

Said losing manager Chris McLure: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
