Tropics Pick Up 4-2 Road Win Over Weedpatch
|
Though he had a great game, Ed Woodside could not single-handedly produce a win for Weedpatch. White Deer won the game, 4-2. Woodside was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times. White Deer reliever Manny Rivera was the winner. His record is now 4-6. The losing pitcher was Danny Martinez. The third-place Tropics bumped their record to 29-24.
White Deer used a well-timed hit by Mike Hopkins to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Tropics ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Hopkins attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
