Van Sant, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2017 draft, went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tropics. Oscar Orduno, the winner, goes to 4-1. He allowed no runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and no strikeouts over 6 innings. White Deer, at 28-24, sits in third place in the Southern A West Division.

White Deer used a well-timed hit by Matt Peters to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Tropics ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
