Columbus Hangs 9-5 Loss on Nashua
|
At Ballpark of Columbus, the Nashua Sweepers and Columbus Bowsers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Columbus Bowsers topped the Nashua Sweepers, 9-5, at Ballpark of Columbus. Columbus second baseman Yoneo Yamamoto was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The Bowsers now have a record of 27-23 with the win over Nashua.
Tied up with the Sweepers in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bowsers got a boost from catcher David McKoy. With runners on 1st and 2nd, McKoy saw a first pitch sinker from Jose Zapata and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Columbus on top, 6-5.
"I still think this team can play even better," McKoy told the Columbus Daily News.
