The Dallas Dragons did just enough to secure a victory over the Boston Whistlers, 4-3, in 10 innings at Whislters Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Glenn Ward. The winner in relief was Gabe Calloway. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Dallas, at 26-19, is 4½ games up in the American Conference South Division.

Dallas used the timely hitting of Cameron Polen to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Dragons on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Boston manager Mike Plocher.
