Eagles Need Extra Innings to Top Captains, 4-2
|
The Indianapolis Eagles had to overcome a fine effort from Tampa Bay pitcher Ben O'Halloran to grab a narrow 4-2 win at Ahoy Park. O'Halloran went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. With the win, Indianapolis raised its record to 50-47.
Indianapolis won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With two outs and Mike Weatherby on the mound for Tampa Bay, first baseman Jon Hager hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Eagles fans to their feet.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Hager said after the game.
