Dominant Performance by Covington in Halifax Win
|
The Boston Whistlers went down to defeat to Branden Covington and his Halifax teammates. The final score was 2-1, in favor of the Heathens. Jeff Buck notched his 31st save in 35 chances. The loss makes Boston 71-56.
Covington, a native of Yonkers, New York, was dealing all game. He kept Boston hitters off-balance, while giving the Heathens 6 quality innings. Covington threw 91 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 10.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Boston skipper Mike Plocher, "and it cost us."
