Felipe Moreno pitched a gem to lead Austin to victory over the Syracuse Scorpions, 3-1. With the win, Austin pushed its record to 72-55.

The Scorpions had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Desperados going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old third baseman Jake Hamill came to the plate. Hamill hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 sinker from Syracuse hurler Alfredo Tiscareno. It was Hamill's 16th double of the year.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Moreno.
