Lotz HR-Happy in 11-4 Win
|
Good production from first baseman Tim Lotz helped the Boston Whistlers topple the Austin Desperados, 11-4. Lotz hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Whistlers. The winning pitcher was Josh Cowels. He tossed 107 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Boston improves to 64-52 with the win. They lead their division by 13½ games.
Boston took the lead, 9-4, on Brian Roseman's 20th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Austin pitcher Chris Oren in the bottom of the eighth.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Roseman said.
