The Vancouver Mounties could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Justin Watson into a win. Instead, the Chicago Gangsters prevailed, 3-2. Watson threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Chicago reliever Josh Shropshire picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Justin Watson was tagged with the loss. The win puts Chicago at 40-72.

Chicago took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Gary Draeger hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Gangsters fans to their feet.

Chicago manager Antonio Valdez called it "a good, solid win."
