The San Francisco Fire wiggled past the Boston Whistlers, 3-2, in 10 innings at Whislters Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of San Francisco pitcher Miguel Berrios. Jesus Henriguez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Fire raised their record to 50-62.
Berrios was in the zone all game. He frustrated Boston hitters while giving the Fire 7 innings of quality work. Berrios threw 106 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 7 punchouts.
"I'm happy we won," said Berrios. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
