The Mexico City Aztecs picked up a win at Tony Gwynn Stadium, knocking off the White Deer Tropics, 7-2. On the mound for Mexico City was right-hander Jesse Aggas. He played a key role in the triumph. Pedro Rodriguez sewed up the save, his 2nd. The third-place Tropics dropped to 25-20.

Matt Unger had a big 3-run home run for the Aztecs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Mexico City trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Bernie Rodriguez, who is tied for 7th in the S-A in innings pitched with 52.2, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Aztecs on top, 4-2.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Unger.
