In a tight game between the White Deer Tropics and the Bangor Lumberjacks, pitcher Josh Howard was terrific on the mound. The White Deer left-hander helped his team to the 1-0 win. Marco Canas closed the door for White Deer, picking up his 2nd save of the year. The Tropics improved to 27-20.

Howard, a native of Scenic Oaks, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Bangor hitters off-balance, while giving the Tropics 8 quality innings. Howard threw 105 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 6.

"Josh was throwing with conviction," said White Deer manager Gabriel Gonzalez.
