Tropics Win, 7-5, Versus Lumberjacks
|
The White Deer Tropics weathered an outstanding game by Bangor right fielder Steve Amparan to topple the Lumberjacks, 7-5. Amparan was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Tropics saw their win-loss record go to 26-20. At the same time, the Lumberjacks fell to 18-28.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Tropics catcher Mark Bagby hit a fastball from George Harris for a 2-run single. Just like that, White Deer was up, 4-3.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Bagby.
