Tropics Turn Back Partons, 2-1

The Dollywood Partons could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Sean Hill into a win. Instead, the White Deer Tropics prevailed, 2-1. Hill threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. White Deer pitcher Max Beltran got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Adam Rosales got the loss. The defeat makes Dollywood 33-13.
Mike Hopkins came through with a big-time hit for White Deer. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Hopkins said after the game.
