The Kalamazoo Comets faced a tough opponent in Mexico City pitcher Brian Nichols, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Wizards Stadium by a final score of 3-0. Nichols went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win was credited to Justin Tarin in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Brian Nichols took the loss. Picking up the save was Nathan Fitzkee, his 2nd.

Tied up with the Aztecs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Comets got a boost from first baseman Trent Slagle. With the bases loaded, Slagle saw a 1-2 slider from Brian Nichols and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Kalamazoo on top, 2-0.

Slagle described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.

The win has Kalamazoo at 12-34.
