At Ballpark of White Deer, the Columbus Bowsers and White Deer Tropics were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The White Deer Tropics downed the Columbus Bowsers, 5-1, at Ballpark of White Deer. The Tropics were led by David Johnson. Johnson was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. White Deer starter Melvin Flores was credited with the win after throwing 110 pitches over 6.2 innings. In the bottom of the sixth, White Deer first baseman Joaquin Gomez put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 4th home run of the year. Columbus pitcher Carlos Corona served it up. Just like that, the Tropics were ahead, 3-1.

"I believe in our guys," said White Deer skipper Brendan Rees. "I like the energy they're playing with."
