Storm Send Mexico City Home with 3-1 Loss
The Lake Elsinore Storm had to overcome a good performance from Mexico City pitcher Mel Mercado to claim a 3-1 win at Dust Devils Ballpark. Mercado went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win was credited to Scott Meredith in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mel Mercado took the loss. Manny Padilla finished to wrap up his 1st save.

The Storm got a big at-bat from left fielder David DeLong. For the game, DeLong was 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Lake Elsinore a 2-1 lead.

Lake Elsinore manager Bobby Vargas commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
