Columbus Topples Nashua, 4-2
|
Columbus and Nashua duked it out and the Bowsers came out victorious.
Columbus pitcher Rey Tovar did his part in helping his team beat the Nashua Sweepers, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The triumph puts Columbus at 21-13 for the season.
Roger Fana had a big run-scoring double for the Bowsers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Columbus leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Alan Trovato and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bowsers ahead, 3-1.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Nashua manager Tony Allen.
