Columbus Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
Columbus had no answer for 23-year old right-handed pitcher Pat Eisenhower. The White Deer Tropics starter stymied Bowsers hitters, helping the Tropics cruise to victory, 6-1. Eisenhower got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 1 hit and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Columbus has now lost 7 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the third, White Deer center fielder Joe Tibbs had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and two out, Tibbs stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 1-0, White Deer. For the game, he was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
In postgame comments to the White Deer Today, Tibbs said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
