The London Werewolves got a superb performance from pitcher Micah Smith, but the Mexico City Aztecs still won the game, 4-2. Smith threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Mexico City reliever Alvaro Ochoa was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Micah Smith. The Aztecs, at 25-10, lead by one game in their division.
Mexico City first baseman David Keith contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Aztecs ahead, 4-2.
"Bottom line," said London skipper Adrian Mercado, "we didn't play well enough to win."
