Mexico City Slaps 3-0 Loss on London
|
Mexico City turned a good effort from starter Dustin Engstrom into a win over the London Werewolves at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The final score was 3-0. Engstrom yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-2. Ken Griffey nailed down the save.
The Aztecs got a big hit from left fielder Alejandro Morales. Facing London pitcher Tom Krasner in the bottom of the sixth, Morales pounded a run-scoring double to left. His 5th double of the season put the Aztecs ahead, 2-0.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Engstrom.
Mexico City raised its record to 24-10 with the win.
