Storm Fall Short, 5-4, at Bangor

The Bangor Lumberjacks dealt the Lake Elsinore Storm a 5-4 loss at Ballpark of Bangor. Bert Wiley was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. Jose Cabral got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Justin Cox notched his 8th save of the season.
Cesar Ornelas was 1-2 with a walk for Bangor. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Ornelas, who is tied for 6th in the S-A in doubles with 8, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Lake Elsinore hurler Jim Unknown, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Lumberjacks a 5-4 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Lake Elsinore manager Alex Archila. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
With the win, Bangor climbs to 20-8.
