Extra-Inning Win by Tropics Over Bowsers
The White Deer Tropics defeated the Columbus Bowsers, 7-4. Left Fielder Pete Beauford deserved a large share of the credit. Beauford went 2-2 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Tropics. Dustin Mitchell, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The loss lowers the Columbus record to 12-11.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Beauford hit a fastball from Brian Ashley for a 3-run home run. The Tropics, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Beauford said.
