Sweepers Suffer One-Run Loss at London
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the London Werewolves and Louisville Sweepers.
Louisville third baseman Joe Pettit had a good game, even if his team did not. The Sweepers dropped a 6-5 decision to London at Werewolves Ballpark. Pettit went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Miguel Perez got the win, improving to 4-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 0 and walking 4.
Eric Hoffman, who is tied for 9th in the S-A with a .357 batting average, chipped in a run-scoring walk for London in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Hoffman told the London Daily News.
Louisville now has a record of 15-7.
