Aztecs Stay Hot, Beat Heroes, 4-0
|
The Mexico City Aztecs topped the Pueblo Heroes, 4-0, in Southern A action at Heroes Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Mexico City pitcher and Albuquerque, New Mexico, native Adam Brittain. Brittain, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. The loss puts Pueblo at 11-10.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Angelo Flores? The Mexico City third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Aztecs on top, 3-0. For the game, Flores had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I feel like we're rolling now," Brittain told the Mexico City Chronicle."The dugout is coming alive."
