Pueblo Heroes starter Wes Gordon turned in a top-notch performance against the Kalamazoo Comets at Wizards Stadium. The result was a win for the Heroes, 8-2. The winning pitcher was Gordon, now 2-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 3. The Comets drop to 7-12.

Alex Mieles had a big 2-run home run for the Heroes in the top of the sixth inning. With Pueblo leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Pedro Solano and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Heroes on top, 4-0.

"I wish every win came this easy," said Mieles.
