White Deer Neutralizes Weedpatch, 2-1

Ballpark of White Deer hosted a real pitchers' duel.
The White Deer Tropics beat the Weedpatch Widowmakers, 2-1, at Ballpark of White Deer. Devin Hall went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. The 23-year old left fielder was a menace to Weedpatch all day. Ricardo Lopez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Alex Gomez closed out the game, earning his 4th save.
Dante Kimble, who is tied for 6th in the S-A in doubles with 6, chipped in a solo home run for White Deer in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"Tough loss," said Weedpatch manager Tony Velez. "The kind that burns a little inside."
Weedpatch, with the loss, is still a hardy 14-6.
