Widowmakers Win 4-2 Walk-Off
The Weedpatch Widowmakers beat the Kalamazoo Comets, 4-2, in 10 innings. Weedpatch pitcher and La Romana, Dominican Republic, native Danny Gomez led the way. Weedpatch reliever Oliver Wood snagged the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jim Unknown shouldered the loss. With the win, Weedpatch is 9-5.

Manny Alfaro played the role of hero for Weedpatch. In the bottom of the tenth, he launched a 2-run home run off Jim Unknown to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Alfaro. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
