Big Day for Johnson in 7-4 Heroes Win
The Pueblo Heroes defeated the Columbus Bowsers, 7-4, in part because of second baseman Josh Johnson. Johnson went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 4 for the Heroes. Phil Shull, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Scott Clary sewed up the save, his 2nd.

Pueblo left fielder Alejandro Morales made an impact. He drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. In the contest, Morales was 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Pueblo manager Jeremiah Simpson.

The Heroes, now 9-3, have been sizzling early on.
