Danny Cortez pitched a dandy of a game to help the Barrie Admirals beat the Nashua Sweepers, 8-0. The winning pitcher was Cortez, now 1-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. The Sweepers, 5-5, continue their so-so start to the 2025 season.

Barrie used the hitting of Nate Lombardi to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Admirals on top, 2-0. For the game, Lombardi had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Barrie manager Manny Uset.
