Lumberjacks Come Up Short at Columbus, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Columbus Bowsers and the Bangor Lumberjacks, pitcher David Procaccini was the difference between victory and defeat. The Columbus right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Bowsers win. The winner was Procaccini. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Justin Allen. Bangor falls to 1-5.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the third. That's when Bowsers left fielder Felix Castillo hit a fastball from Justin Allen for a 2-run single. Just like that, Columbus was up, 2-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Columbus skipper Joe Mills. "I can't complain."
