Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Columbus Bowsers home opener. Jesus Garcia started for the home team against John Sherline for the White Deer Tropics. The Bowsers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-3, White Deer. John Sherline, though, was impressive.

White Deer used the hitting of David Gonzalez to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Tropics on top, 3-1. For the game, Gonzalez had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
