Tropics Win at Home, 6-4

The White Deer Tropics put the giddy home crowd in an even more jubilant mood after beating the Long Beach Keys in the season opener at Ballpark of White Deer. Third Baseman Alex Guerrero won plaudits for White Deer. He was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. White Deer reliever Marco Canas picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Unknown was saddled with the loss. Getting the save was David Cooper, his 1st.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Guerrero delivered big-time for White Deer, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Jim Unknown. The game-changing hit put the Tropics on top, 5-4.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said White Deer manager Gabriel Gonzalez.
