The Bangor Lumberjacks launched their 2026 campaign with a victory over the Pueblo Heroes at Ballpark of Bangor. Bangor shortstop Guy Dewey was instrumental in the 5-3 win. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Justin Allen. He tossed 89 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. Earning his 1st save for Bangor was Daniel Hernandez.

Dewey contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Bangor in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Dewey took a fastball from Steve Sullivan and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Lumberjacks to leap in front, 4-2.

Bangor manager Shawn Banks commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
