Dolly Parton Ballpark was the site of the home opener for the Dollywood Partons. The contest featured a prime matchup between Carlos Loera of the visiting Bangor Lumberjacks and Gilberto Cortez of the Partons. The final score was 3-2, the Lumberjacks getting the win. Charlie Trigg turned in the best performance. Bangor pitcher Pat Furphy earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Gilberto Cortez suffered the loss. Steve Ray, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

Bangor used a clutch at-bat from Victor Garcia to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Lumberjacks ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Garcia called the win "a collective effort."
