At Engineers Ballpark, the St. Catharines Blue Jays and Santa Rosa Desperados were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Santa Rosa Desperados downed the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 7-3, at Engineers Ballpark. The Desperados were led by Sean Welliver. Welliver was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Casey Thill earned the win, while 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Richert took the loss for St. Catharines.

Santa Rosa used a clutch at-bat from Andrew Maness to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Desperados ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said St. Catharines manager Freddy Coss.

Santa Rosa raised its record to 92-47 with the win.
