Flyers Take Down Trolls, 3-2
|
The Newark Flyers eked out a 3-2 win versus the Tyler Trolls at Trolls Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Rico Lopez. He was terrific. The winner was Jeff Reade in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Brian Rosen took the loss. With the win, Newark raised its record to 74-66.
Newark needed the clutch hitting of Matthew Bridges to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Flyers on top, 3-2. For the game, Bridges had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Winning never gets dull," said Bridges.
