Fremont had no answer for 23-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Rank. The Santa Rosa Desperados starter stymied Ambassadors hitters, helping the Desperados cruise to victory, 9-1. The winner was Santa Rosa reliever Roberto Callo, now 9-1. The loser was Jim Unknown. Santa Rosa has now won 5 in a row.
Had Mike Raia not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Raia hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Desperados.
