Desperados Reel Off Another Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Santa Rosa Desperados and the Huntsville Rockets, Justin Hesley, who is rated as the 13th best prospect by BNN, was the difference-maker. The Santa Rosa right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. In 6.1 innings, Hesley surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The Desperados, at 116-23, have a comfortable 23½-game lead in their division.
Santa Rosa used a well-timed hit by Gary Nahum to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Desperados ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Santa Rosa manager Carlos Acevedo praised his team's "businesslike approach."
