St. Catharines got a first-rate effort from pitcher Jamie Jackson, who frustrated Santa Rosa hitters en route to a 2-1 Blue Jays triumph at Engineers Ballpark. With the win, the Blue Jays have a record of 81-57.
The Desperados had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Blue Jays going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right fielder Josh Keiser came to the plate. Keiser hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 slider from Santa Rosa hurler Casey Thill. It was Keiser's 4th home run of the year.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Jackson.
