Jet Hawks Come Up Short at Fremont, 3-2
The Fremont Ambassadors earned a close win over the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks, thanks in part to Arturo Ramirez. The Fremont right-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Lee Waters picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. David Koontz suffered the loss. The third-place Jet Hawks dropped to 79-59.

Fremont went in front, 3-2, on Tom Pendell's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Pendell hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Grand Rapids pitcher David Koontz visibly perturbed.

"I really like what we did out there today," Pendell said after the game.
