Flyers Deal Jet Hawks 5-2 Loss

The umbrellas came out during the Newark-Grand Rapids contest at Jet Hawks Ballpark.
Newark pitcher Eddie Sarabia did his part in helping his team beat the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Sarabia yielded 2 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-1. The save went to Dustin Miller, number 30 for him.
In the top of the third, Newark right fielder Tim Schnupp had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Grand Rapids hurler Matt Lavender, Schnupp hit a sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Newark. For the day, Schnupp went 1-3.
Newark manager Matt Conners was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
The Flyers go to 71-65, putting them third in the Northern A East Division.
