The Huntsville Rockets, despite a fine performance by St. Catharines pitcher Jeremy Foss, grabbed a 1-0 win at Ballpark of Austin. Foss allowed 1 run over 6.2 innings. Eric Mohr picked up the win, lifting his record to 8-9 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in 5.2 innings, while yielding no runs. Brian Blanchette got the save, his 11th in 12 chances.
Huntsville shortstop Casey Brown contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 79th hit of the season and put the Rockets ahead, 1-0.
Brown said his team "played with focus."
Huntsville improves to 87-50 with the win. They lead their division by 7 games.
